    Our Intent

We create and deliver a fun, engaging and diverse music curriculum that enables children to listen to, enjoy and appreciate a wide range of musical styles and genres. Children develop the ability to talk confidently about music using the inter-related dimension language, sing in a variety of styles with controlled technique, and improvise and compose music suited to different genres. They are encouraged to use a range of notation to record their musical compositions and to perform confidently in both vocal and instrumental performances. Through these experiences, children build creativity, confidence and a deeper appreciation of music.

We aim to build strong staff self-efficacy in the teaching of music, ensuring that non musical teachers are well-supported through high-quality CPD and accessible resources. Music is used as a key driver in promoting the school’s religious ethos, while opportunities are provided for all children to learn and play instruments. Pupils are also encouraged to pursue further musical learning through additional opportunities, competitions, performances, and both inter-school and intra-school events designed to inspire, motivate and engage every child.
